Why Search Engine Optimization? by Tanya Martin

Why should you consider search engine optimization? There are many reasons. The top reason would be because of the high return on investment (ROI).

There have been many studies on how Internet users find websites. Many of the studies show 80-90% of Internet users find websites through search engines.

How much are visitors worth? If we just look at paid search engines, it could cost you from $.10 to over $12.00 per click. (Don't believe me, check out the term "hosting" through Overture, it is over $12 a click). With paid listings, you will get very little traffic at the $.10. The average well known term is going to cost $2.00 to $4.00 a click.

So why search engine optimization? Easy, it will save you money and make you more money. I'm not saying don't do paid search engine listings, I would as long as I had the right type of landing page. But you will make more on the organic listings.

Let's do some plain calculations. Suppose you paid for 1000 visitors a day, through Overture or Google at the low rate of $.50 a click. That is $500 a day right? For a month the cost of your traffic is $15000. With organic search engine marketing, it will cost you less! Say you got the same amount of traffic 30,000 visitors a month using an SEO, it would cost you around .10 cents a click.

How can you afford not to do search engine optimization? There are many types of advertising you can do: tv, mail, email, and radio. But SEO is the most affordable type of advertising anyone can do. With more Internet users buying online, SEO is extremely effective as well.

Search Engine Optimization is more affordable then any other type of marketing. Which do you want to pay, $15,000 a month or around $3,000 a month?
